About Lauren R. Silberman
Ms. Silberman is the deputy director for Historic London Town and Gardens. She is the author of the upcoming Wild Women of Maryland (History Press, expected 2015), Wicked Baltimore (History Press, 2011), and The Jewish Community of Baltimore (Arcadia Publishing, 2008).
She is currently pursuing a Master of Management with a specialization in Non-Profit and Association Management through the University of Maryland, University College. Previously, she attended the George Washington University, where she majored in painting and art history, graduating magna cum laude, and the Maryland Institute College of Art, studying graphic design in their continuing education program. She has also studied in Florence, Italy. Currently, she lives outside of D.C. with her husband.
She currently works for Historic London Town and Gardens and serves on the board of the Small Museum Association and the Greenbelt Museum. She is also on a grants review committee with the Anacostia Trails Heritage Association/Maryland Milestones. She has also worked with several museums, including serving as a program officer with the American Alliance of Museums, education and program coordinator at the Jewish Museum of Maryland, and museum assistant at the Phillips Collection, as well as having interned with two Smithsonian museums: the Freer and Sackler Galleries of Asian Art and the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden.
She has been involved with graphic design, developing items for several non-profits, and corporations.
